My star citizen logo was built in AI.

I needed a logo for my DVD cover and label.  I didn’t like any of the ones I had found or made with text.

So I started off by copying the star citizen badge logo off their web site. And placing it in to AI.

Then on a new layer I started to trace with the pen tool the outline for STAR.

I then moved the original logo so the word citizen was directly below Star.
And then by using the pen tool I very carefully traced the letters in citizen.
After I finished tracing I deleted the original logo layer.

I not had basics for a logo I could use and scale to any size.
I grouped the letters together and so they couldn’t be moved independently.
 I then filled in the shapes with a gradient fill.
Click Effect> 3D > Extrude & Bevel. Check the preview box if it not already.

The by using free transform I tilled it slightly to the right.
And that was my quick and easy logo.
