Premiere Trailer making Pt 2 Ultra key, Title Pages, video editing and music

I then also downloaded A Chroma key back ground of space age door opening I then open the clip
I selected the effects tab above the bins section using the search I found the ultra key effect.  I then dragged the effect on to the green screen clip. When we selected the ultra key the option are displayed on the top of the clip editing box.
Using the eyedropper (in much the same way as Photoshop) tool I selected the green from the green screen, this now selected this colour to be invisible or transparent. This now means I can put my out images or background be hide it and it would show through instead of the green..
I then dragged it on to my time line.

Ultra key
I knew that I wanted to used theses doors as a transition. For this I would need them to open and closes so by watching them if the video I used the mark in and out timer marks (they look like { for start,  } and for  end) to go to the exact point the doors close.
I then dragged that selection over on my time line.

I then in the editing box I used the same method to get to the exact point the door finish locking.
I then right clicked on the clips on my time tine and changed its speed to 700%. I made sure the two clips were next to each other. I then duplicated the two clips right clicking on them again I loaded up the speed duration box again. This time I didn’t change the speed I checked the box for reverse. And arranged then in this order door closing, door locking, door locking in reverse, door closing reverse.
When placed in this order the door closes and then opens again. I then selected them all     And right clicked

I decided to that by using title cards I would introduce a new concepts of the game. Followed by clips demonstration that showed off these features.

the next task watch through all the videos looking for good clips this proved a little bit harder than I first suspected, Mostly because a lot of the star citizen promotion videos that are realised are in the form of short movies with plots, that I ended up watching more than looking for clips.
The clips were cut up my using the mark in and out tool and dragged to the time line.
After they were place right click on them. Then click on unlink. This stops them being attached to the sound files they came with they were then easily delectable from the audio channels bellow.

Also using a free version of Fraps I went out to capture some of my own video from the game.  This can be seen in the space combat section.

Titles pages
By pressing the CTRL +T makes the new title screens. The title menu then loads up from here you can change the font and the position of the text. As well as any fades in or movement.
I choose to use the AR Destine font as it looks sci-fi and wasn’t a windows standard font.

Video Editing
I finally found a good selection of clips, knowing that the video was going be only a min in total.
Most clips arre sped up usaly at least of 200%. Some clips are up to 800% faster.
One scene shows a ship is taking off, the original footage the ship was landing so reversed it.
Only the clips from the First Person perspective were left unchanged this was because when they were played fast it became reminiscent of the old Benny Hill show Closing chase scene. As for the Space Shot and dogfights it was far less noticeable.

Using the second video channel I placed all of the tittle screens I had made on this layer. And using video layer 3 was where I place my Ultra key clips that I made earlier. There were a few times that this wasn’t possible so they were moved to layer four.

The clips were arranged on Video layer 1 3 and 4. Video layer 5 was used for placing clips that had not been edited in. Making sure I clicked the eye symbol on layer five to turn it off while I was editing. And No clips were left on that layer when It was completed. As the higher the video level was the more promenades it would be. the yellow bar across the top of the sequencer shows if there are any gaps in the video.

Music
The music was one of the hardest things for me to find a suitable song.  After hours of lessening to a lot of royalty free music. And not finning anything suitable I decided that using a real bit of music maybe appropriate As it’s a common trend to use a popular song in AAA video game TV adverts E.g Gears of war using the Gary Jules cover of Mad World or the COD Black OPS III trailer that uses Paint it black by The Rolling Stones.
I considered a lot of different types of music from classical music to more modern inventions like dub step. Even tried Elton Johns’s Rocket man, David Bowie’s Star Man nothing felt right without having to completely re-build the trailer from the ground up.
I hind sight I should have chosen a track first and worked from that.
In the end I chose to Use a track from the new Prodigy Album a track called beyond the death ray.
the track uses a high tempo pulsing rhythm made it easy to queue it in without having to restructure the video completely. That’s not to say the track didn’t need some editing the track was about 3 minutes long and had a minute of piano music in the middle.

I am cut the first 27 seconds of the track and twenty seconds from 2.04 to 2.19. and then used that clip again to fill in the extra time. But right clicking on the join I could set the transition to help blend the repeating tracks together I then experimented with the join dragged to different positions until I made it sound correct.

Still images
I loaded in a final title that I had made outside of Premiere. This had been made using both Photoshop and Adobe illustrator. See end panel blog post. This was made to be the final page which included a 3d rendering of the box and release information.
