Making the final design of DVD Cover
Now I have a Cover image that I am happy with I was ready to get started on the final build.
I loaded up my template of a DVD case box that i had built for the mock up
And the Art work of the Cover image.
ON the cover image I pressed (CTRL + Alt + A) the select the whole canvas. Then shift clicked all the layer.
Then by pressing Shift + Ctrl +C this copied the layers merged.
The template was filled in black.
Back in the DVD sleeve I made some guild lines for 5mm both sides of the cover page.
I then pasted the merged layer and used Ctrl + Alt + T to scale it down while holding the shift key to stop it distorting.
I then loaded in the female space suit smart object file. That I had cut out and changed the resolution of earlier. This was placed on the left hand side of the back cover.
I then grouped theses layers in a folder and name it back ground images. The folder allow me keep they layers organised. And stops them getting moved by accident.
Using the text tool I wrote down the tittles for each section of text.
Then filled in the blurb, grouping them with their titles. Making sure the text doesn’t overlap with the background images.
The ESRB rating logos were then arranged in the bottom right of the back cover. Then theses layers were also grouped.
Using the text tool again I typed in star citizen using the toggle orientation button next to font box.
This changed to text to be written downwards. I then moved that to the centre of the spine. I then loaded the Star citizen logo and placed it at the top. I used the standard PC DVD Rom logo as found on a high percentage of pc games.
I placed the Cry Engine logo And the RSI logo in the bottom Right.
And Imported in the logo I had made in illustrator placed as a smart object on the front cover.
Next I arranged the images I wanted to use as screen shots on layers on top of the text. After a little bit of clean with the layer mask option. I grouped them in folder and moved them to the second layer from bottom. The text now appeared on top of the pictures.
This competes the cover for this project.
